Prior to the conference, an excursion to the Port of Rotterdam will be organized on the morning of Monday 19 April.

Rotterdam has the biggest harbour in Europe. The Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) is responsible for the official control on products entering the European Union. Due to Regulation (EU) 2019/1793 on the temporary increase of official controls for certain goods, the NVWA took 1,076 extra samples for mycotoxin analysis in 2025.

There are strict rules how to take and analyse these samples. During this excursion, the NVWA will demonstrate the sampling for an official control according to Regulation (EU) 2023/2782. The challenges of sampling and the importance of homogenizing will be discussed. See our inspectors at work and learn all there is about sampling a heterogenous contamination!

Please note: The excursion is limited to 30 persons, served on a first-come first served basis. Due to the limited number of places available, participation is restricted to only one representative per company or organization. This allows us to offer as many different companies and organizations as possible the opportunity to participate.
